Nuances of Perdition (not really a story...more a poem-ish)
A dark cloud looms over us. Smog veils the mind. There is a storm on the rise; distant thunder draws ever nearer. An ocean of plebeians spill out onto the metropolis streets. They are in a panic. Cacophony of their mendacity echoes amongst the framework of glass buildings. Convoluted contrivance of contrition at best. Hapless begging of undeserved fools. Desire to outshine a history of decadence with a single moment’s repentance. Albeit their sincerity a deception, valiant their desire for redemption. In a world such as this angels court demons in their Sunday best whilst draped in off-whites. And so praying hands stand and be counted doomed to be severed. The very hands that built faith in faculty lay emancipated, so it was torn down. Thus muddied our codes of morality. Stains mar the land of an innocent man staring beyond the sea and into the charcoal sky. He watches the annihilation of his dreams as he desperately tears at the seams searching for a realm beyond the veil. The weaponization of one against himself is complete. Rest assured, in time aspiration shall be abolished.
